Conelsur achieves 89% implementation in real-time asset monitoring and control plan

The power transmission company belonging to Transelec Group pointed out that the control center has allowed it to operate more efficiently and effectively, safeguarding the quality requirements of the electric service for its clients.

Conelsur’s plan to incorporate all of its assets into its modern control center to unify and monitor its operations in real time, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, has already achieved an implementation of 89%, as reported by Cristián Arratia, CEO of the power transmission company.

Today, from the 20 substations operated by the company in the regions of Cajamarca, La Libertad, Junín, Huancavelica, Arequipa and Lima, a total of 17 have already been integrated into the modern infrastructure, which is extremely crucial because it allows performing maneuvers with the equipment and sending the information in real time to the Economic Operation Committee of the National Interconnected System (COES).

“In the past two years, we have worked continuously on the incorporation of most substations, and we hope to complete this process in late 2025,” explained the executive.

The control center has helped the company, which is part of Transelec Group, to operate more efficiently and effectively, safeguarding the quality requirements of the electric service for its clients. “Our transmission service is provided with high operational standards that allow meeting the current demand and its growth,” he stated.

Arratia also added that managing the data in real time enables adopting preventive measures and improving the equipment’s restoration times in normal conditions and contingencies, as well as making timely decisions to improve tension levels and prevent overloads, enhancing operational safety and the quality of the service.
